    Dear Saints,

We greet you in the wonderful name of our Lord Jesus! We have just come back from our June convention in Jacksonville, Florida and were thoroughly refreshed by the Lord's presence. It was wonderful to see everyone as there is such a sense of family when we gather. The Lord is doing a deep work in many lives and we rejoice in the great truth that He Who has begun a good work in us will finish it. Phil. 1:6. There are many needs and many challenges but we have a great Savior!

The Lord has been specially emphasizing prayer in our churches in recent years and more particularly lately. It is wonderful to have truth and to believe it but God has ordained that what we accomplish must be bathed in prayer. That is where spiritual battles are won and lost. Satan's hold on the minds of men is growing by the hour and we must work while it is "day." Night is coming. We have both the privilege and responsibility of being workers together with Him, not only in ministry activities, but also in prayer. We are seeing the difference and look forward to more.

This issue begins what I believe will be a two-part article on the subject, "What About Genesis?" I went for many years not thinking that it mattered how the creation account was understood and reconciled with science. The Lord has changed my mind. He helped me to minister on this subject in the Thurday evening service at the convention and greatly blessed. I believe that in the process our people came to understand that this issue does matter and also that we don't have to be afraid of the claims of science. God has not only given us a reliable record of our beginnings but also of his loving and eternal plans for all who trust in Christ.

In July we are looking forward to our "Kids' Camp" here in Southern Pines. (This is essentially what others call Daily Vacation Bible School.) God has greatly used these in the past years and we covet your prayers that this year will be no exception. It is a wonderful opportunity to influence young minds and hearts for Christ.

Labor Day weekend we are looking forward again to our Youth Camp in Lexington, South Carolina. Pray also for this opportunity that the Lord will save and establish all who come according to the need.

We have another wonderful opportunity coming up in September when Bro. Jimmy Robbins and I expect, Lord willing, to fly once again to the Philippines to minister with Bro. Bobbie Abrina and the church there in Davao City. Bro. Bobbie has arranged an aggressive schedule with at least 4 pastors' conferences besides several other meetings of various kinds and in several cities and other locations. Pray! We thank God for the opportunity but are keenly aware just how much we need Him if we are to accomplish anything worthwhile.

And now, until the next issue may God richly bless you...

    Your brother in Christ,
    Phil Enlow
